Petroleum Geoscience Launches on GeoScienceWorld Alexandria, Va. – GeoScienceWorld (GSW) is pleased to
announce the immediate launch of Petroleum
Geoscience, the 37th online geoscience journal on our web site, http://www.geoscienceworld.org. The
journal is now available and fully searchable
through GSW’s online portal of geoscience journals at http://pg.geoscienceworld.org. The
full-text is freely available to all until December 16, 2008; after that date,
full-text will be available only to GSW subscribers. Petroleum Geoscience is published by the
Geological Society of London and jointly owned by the Geological Society of London and the European
Association of Geoscientists and Engineers. Published four times each year,
this peer-reviewed journal provides a multidisciplinary outlet for the
publication needs of those involved in the science and technology associated
with rock-related petroleum disciplines. The journal has a circulation of approximately
5,000 and includes in its readership geologists, geophysicists, petroleum
engineers, petrophysicists and geochemists in the academic and professional
worlds. The journal aims to improve knowledge of petroleum geoscience and
reflect the international nature of the petroleum industry. GeoScienceWorld is an online resource for research and communications in the geosciences, built on a core aggregation of high-impact, peer-reviewed journals that are indexed, linked, and interoperable with the GeoRef bibliographic database. Petroleum Geoscience is a significant step in realizing GSW’s mission to be the most comprehensive, widely accessible, easy to use, integrated, and cost-effective online resource for journals in the geological and earth sciences. # # # Headquartered in Alexandria, Va., GeoScienceWorld was incorporated in 2004 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with the sole purpose of making geoscience research and information easily available to the scientific community and the public in an online digital format that facilitates education and future research.
